Well worth a visit. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and they made such a fuss of our 3 year old girl :) They made us feel so very welcome. Lovely, friendly and down to earth. Very reasonable prices. Food is absolutely amazing and presented exceptionally well. Definitely visiting again next week and will book for a birthday next month without a doubt. Absolutely amazing pub. Also love the fact they have a games cupboard so we sat playing cards while we waited for our food (which came out very quickly) Was a nice change from us all sat flicking on our phones.

Lovely little campsite. We have stayed here numerous times since lockdown was lifted. Where do I start. First and foremost the pub. This is one of the main reasons that we keep returning. Paul and Diane are excellent hosts along with Andrea. The food cooked by Wendy is delicious, you have to try the sticky toffee pudding it’s to die for. We have always been made to feel welcome even on our very first stay when we rocked up at 2200 hrs. Paul very kindly went and made our group some nibbles. The wild camping is great, well set out. All in all it’s a brilliant site with easy reach to Chester and surrounding area. Great friendly atmosphere especially now it’s an Adult only site. Great escape not too far from home

Stayed here for two nights in our Motorhome to visit the Christmas market in Chester. Paul, Diane and Andrea made us feel extremely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them, on Friday night Paul suggested that we take our home made chilli over and he would plate it for us. To our surprise when it arrived it was complete with rice, chips and poppadoms and home made mango chutney. What a lovely gesture. On Saturday night we ate in the pub I had home made fish cakes and my husband had steak and ale pie, both meals were absolutely delicious, it’s obvious that Paul takes pride in his kitchen, his triple cooked chips are divine. Anyone who stays on the campsite should eat here for sure. It is situated on a busy road however there is no road noise during the night. We didn’t use the shower/toilet but did look and they were absolutely spotless. I would recommend anyone who wants to visit Chester to stay here as there is a local bus service at two hour intervals with the bus stop 200metres away. We noticed various footpaths local to the site and are sure that if you had a OS map you would find some enjoyable walks. Once again Paul Diane and Andrea we thank you for a lovely weekend and will most certainly visit again. Anne and Phil

What a smashing little gem of a place, in beautiful Cheshire countryside with a warm and inviting welcome for families and children. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys great hospitality and dining. We stayed for a weekend in February in our caravan with our two children. We met Paul and Diane the owners, who along with their staff went above and beyond our expectations to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay despite the poor weather. There was great variety from both the day and evening menus on offer in the Carriages bar / restaurant where we dined with our children. Hearty, wholesome portions meant hungry tummys were soon filled and along with the friends we travelled with, we had a lovely two evenings in the company of Carriages. Paul was a most polite, attentive host; open and approachable and despite some other ill mannered guests our weekend was a perfectly enjoyable one. The previous one-star vindictive remark should be disregarded. Carriages deserves every 5 star review posted - these are testimony to the wonderful service we all received! We would definitely return to experience some of the family orientated events that Carriages has planned later in the year and wish Carriages all the best for continued success.

Wow love this place . We came for a long weekend and loved every minute of our stay. Carriages Pub & Accommodation was great. The food was excellent and if you fancy a perfectly cooked steak, well this is the place. We stayed at the touring caravan and motor home site which was great even though it only accommodates about 14 pitches. They do have a large field with more pitches for tents but has not electric hook up on the larger field. Very Dog friendly and not far from the village of Tattenhall. Great place if you fancy visiting Chester & the zoo, only 8miles away. I really recommend this place .
